About the event

On Saturday, June 25 at noon, we welcome the band Acoustic Smoke! Acoustic Smoke, based in Bemidji MN, runs the gamut from Blues to Rock to Folk, and Gospel in the music they write, record, and perform. Holt's rich melodic blues voice, paired with Hershberger's thick rhythmic guitar creates a powerful, minimalistic, driven sound that appeals to a broad audience. Their self-produced first album One Kind Favor relied heavily on traditional gospel blues songs well known in the deep south. The emotional, earthy record garnered some attention from local radio both public and private, as well as venue owners and a smattering of varied promoters, and led to two additional records. Joe Holt, the front man for Acoustic Smoke, is a singer-songwriter who recently earned the Region 2 Arts Council 2021-2022 Artist Fellowship Award.

This activity is made possible by the voters of Minnesota, through a grant from the Region 2 Arts Council, thanks to a legislative appropriation from the Arts and Cultural Heritage Fund.

Beltrami County Historical Society is honored to host Brian Miller (Friday @ 7:00 PM) and Acoustic Smoke as part of Depot Days, our cleanup day, annual member meeting, and volunteer celebration. Volunteers are invited to join us on Saturday from 7:00 AM – 10:00 AM to help with indoor or outdoor cleanup activities. Historical Society members are invited to our annual meeting at 10:00 AM. The annual meeting agenda includes officer elections, a review of 2021 and a look ahead, and a celebration of our volunteers. Please RSVP for cleanup or our member meeting by calling 218-444-3376 or emailing depot@beltramihistory.org.
