About the Workshop: Introduction to Macrame

In this class, you will learn the essential skills to get you started on your macrame journey. We will make a 3-stranded plant hanger for a 6-inch pot with a saucer. You will be introduced to macrame cords (materials, sizes), essential measurements/math, and estimation of cords for projects, materials, and tools. You will learn the lark's head knot, wrap/gathering knot, half square knot, square knot, switch knot, and finally, how to make a cradle to hold your pot.

Shannon will also show you how to wrap a ring with a clove hitch knot, make a ring with a cord, and, if time permits, a flower pattern keychain. All materials are provided; you should bring a bag to carry your supplies home. You will receive an instructional handout and enough materials to make a second plant hanger.
