About the event
Beltrami County Historical Society welcomes historian Barry Babcock for his Brown Bag Lunch presentation: Caesars of the Wilderness on Thursday, March 17, at noon at the Beltrami County History Center (120 Minnesota Ave. SW). Fur traders Pierre-Esprit Radisson and Médard Chouart des Groseilliers were among the first, if not the first, Frenchmen to explore the Minnesota area in about 1660. The Hudson Bay Company, begun in 1670, was largely formed because of the actions of these two Frenchmen.
Brown Bag History is FREE to attend and registration is recommended (we are limited to 12 participants). Please bring your own lunch and beverage (coffee and water will be available).
The Brown Bag History program welcomes local historians, authors, and storytellers who bring the history of Beltrami County over lunch. Bring your food and beverage and join author and historian Leo Soukup and special guests to explore Beltrami County's local history at noon on the Third Thursday of each month. Discussion and questions are welcome! To signup for this and future events, please visit beltramihistory.org.
