About the event

As part of Bemidji’s Loop the Lake Festival, the Beltrami County Historical Society presents a special ride-by exhibit: “Pedaling Toward the Vote: How the Bicycle Powered the Fight for Women’s Rights.” This outdoor exhibit traces how bicycles in the late 1800s gave women greater freedom, challenged social norms, and helped propel the movement for voting rights. Riders who spot all the signs can use a special code word for free museum admission and a commemorative sticker at the History Center. No need to stop — just ride, read, and roll on.
