About the event
Join us for a screening of the Academy Award-winning documentary "PERIOD. END OF SENTENCE," which follows women in rural India fighting the stigma surrounding menstruation and beginning to manufacture sanitary pads.
Following the film, our distinguished panel will discuss period equity in Minnesota and globally. Panelists include Minnesota Rep. Sandra Feist, who has championed period equity legislation, along with Aashraya Seth, Kara Cowell, and a representative from Beltrami County Public Health.
This event will explore the global context of period poverty, connecting it to local initiatives and needs within our community. All are welcome to attend and participate in the discussion. This event is free to attend, but pre-registration is required. Attendees are encouraged to bring new menstrual supplies to donate for redistribution in our region. A light breakfast will be served ahead of the documentary.
Sponsored by Northwest Minnesota Women's Fund and Kraus-Anderson.
